There are many other exciting destinations to discover in the immediate vicinity of the town harbour. First and foremost, the spectacular natural landscape of the Jasmund National Park with its famous chalk coast and Rügen’s Landmark, the Königsstuhl.

The KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre offers its guests a special nature experience in all weathers, directly on the famous Königsstuhl chalk cliff in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Ancient Beech Forests of Germany". Tip: The Hochuferweg from Sassnitz to the Königsstuhl is one of Germany's most beautiful hiking trails.

With its galleries, craft shops and cosy cafés and restaurants, Sassnitz Old Town invites you to stroll and wander.

Incidentally, Sassnitz not only has the sea to offer, but also two beautiful beaches. Hiker and fossil collectors will love the stone beach along the chalk coast in the north of Sassnitz.
